American Idol finalist to headline Guitars Under the Stars

NORWICH – City officials and Millennium Entertainment Owner Terry Potter have announced former American Idol finalist, and Average Joes Entertainment recording artist Josh Gracin as this year’s Guitars Under the Stars headliner.
Now in its third year, Guitars Under the Stars focuses on showcasing local and regional musical talent, and this year is no exception, according to Potter.
Gracin, who placed fourth overall in season two of American Idol, has had a string of Billboard Hot Country hits since he released his 2004 self-titled debut album, thanks to singles such as “I Want to Live,” “Nothin’ to Lose” and “We Weren’t Crazy.”
“We were able to bring in an artist of Josh Gracin’s caliber for several reasons, the support of the community, the fair board and most of all Chobani Yogurt, our primary sponsor for this year’s event,” said Potter, who added that local performers will be announced in the near future.
This year, reported Potter, four lucky winners will have the opportunity to win VIP passes for a meet and greet, and backstage barbecue, with the country singer and his band. To be eligible, contestants must purchase their advance tickets prior to June 1.
Tickets for Guitars Under the Stars will officially go on sale at 9 a.m., May 7, and can be purchased through tickets.com (search Guitars Under the Stars), Hayes Office Supplies, the Sidney Video Entertainment Plus and at the Chenango County Fair office. To contact tickets.com by phone call 1-888-223-6000.
“We appreciate the faith that the fair board, the community and surrounding communities put into Millennium Entertainment,” said Potter. “This just keeps getting bigger and bigger every year.”
“This is going to be great for the entire community, a national recording artist and American Idol finalist. Things like this put Norwich on the map,” stated Mayor Joe Maiurano, who added he will “definitely be attending, I wouldn’t miss it.”
Gates will open at 6 p.m., Aug. 11, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. A limited number of tickets will be available between May 7 and June 30 for $10, $15 between July 1 and Aug. 10 and $20 on the day of the show. For more information contact Potter at 316-2870.
