Caputo’s work featured on NBT’s ‘Wall of Art’ until late June
NORWICH – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art is featuring the artwork of Edmond Caputo at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. His work will be on display until late June.
Caputo’s paintings are modernist and abstract in style. His work often features a mix of geometrical shapes and words. “I hope to connect with my audience on some level of understanding about certain aspects of life that we all deal with,” he said.
For its Wall of Art, NBT Bank is partnering with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to highlight the creativity of area residents. Council Executive Director Victoria Kappel said: “Eddie Caputo’s art is visually bold. That’s one of the reasons he won the ‘Best of Show’ award at the council’s recent exhibition of member artists. His sculpture has also been honored by the State of the Art Gallery in Ithaca. We’re always interested in what his next creation will be.”
Caputo, a resident of Norwich, teaches studio-art classes at Norwich High School. He is also working on new artwork, some of which will be included in his solo show next year at the Chenango County Council on the Arts. He has a bachelor’s degree in sculpture and art history from The College at Brockport State University of New York. In the fall, he will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology to pursue a master’s degree in fine arts.
