Sherburne Rotary Club presents annual ‘Music in the Park’ series
SHERBURNE – The Sherburne Rotary Club will start its Music in the Park summer concert series, now in its 21st year, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gaines Park on East Main Street.
Music in the Park Chairperson Marsha Guzewich, who has been involved with the weekly concert series for approximately two decades, said it’s not unusual to see crowds ranging from 200 to 600 people gather in the downtown park, “depending on the weather and who’s performing.”
“I just think this is a great opportunity to listen to some live music, come together as a community and enjoy what summer is all about,” said Guzewich, who added food and beverages will again be available at the Rotary Club food booth.
The Roots of Rock and Roll, featuring John Hutson on guitar and vocals, Monk Rowe on saxophone and piano, Tom McGrath on drums and Bob Sherwood on bass, will be on hand to kick things off for the first of six summer concerts, sponsored this week by Bruce Webster, the Burgess and Tedesco Funeral Homes and Service Pharmacy, which run every Wednesday through Aug. 11.
