‘Great start’ for Norwich netters

ENDICOTT – Bryn Loomis was the top number one singles player at the 2010 Tiger Preseason tourney Wednesday, one of four Norwich players to take top honors in round-robin format that also included teams from Union-Endicott, Seton Catholic Central, and Horseheads.

Each player – and doubles team – faced off in a 10-game pro set format against each of the other teams’ players in the same spot. Loomis, squaring off against the other top singles players, won her first two matches, 10-1 and 10-2. She fell behind Christina Perry of Seton Catholic Central, 7-0, but picked up four straight games before losing 10-4. Loomis won 24 total games out of 37 played, a 64.8 winning percentage that was best among her group.
