NORWICH – Cynthia Gardiner, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Chenango County, was selected as the recipient of Commerce Chenango’s August Employee of the Month Award.

Ken Smith, Executive Director, Cornell Cooperative, says “Cindy spends countless hours, many of them unpaid, supporting the work of our 4-H, Eat Smart! program, horticulture and agriculture programs. In addition to her tireless work for these programs, she provides a sympathetic ear and encouragement to all she interacts with. She makes a special effort to encourage the many young people she comes in contact with.”

Cindy gives of herself both on and off the job. She is a community volunteer and works almost non-stop for both the Sherburne and Smyrna fire departments and their auxiliaries, as well as for the Boy Scouts of America. She has dedicated her life to helping others and making sure those around her are happy and cared for.
