CONKLIN – Susquehanna lost three out four singles matches to Norwich, but swept all three doubles team points to beat the Tornado netters on Monday.
Bryn Loomis, Jessica Lerner, and Reva Seager all had impressive straight sets wins for Norwich (5-2). “If you were to tell me beforehand that we would win three of four singles matches, I would have told you that we would win the match,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “That’s not the way it played out. It was a tough, competitive match, and we love these kinds of matches. We just came up short.”
SV won in first doubles in three sets, and overcame two set points in second doubles to prevail.

Lindsey Avolio, Abby Grade, and Carly Beadle all won in straight sets, while also giving up just three combined points.
Maggie Avolio and Amanda Leech paired for a straight sets win at first doubles, and Hale Benson and Kyra Wright needed three sets to defeat the Wildcats’ Liz Brown and Khrystal Potter.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley scored four goals in the first half to take command of its non-league game with Tyburn Academy on Monday.
Dusty Davis had a hat trick for the Vikings (4-1), Brent Rasmussen tallied twice, and Jeff Pittsley had one goal and three assists. “It felt good to put some shots in the goal,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “The last game we didn’t score, so it was nice that we were able to convert our opportunities.”
The Vikings play at Madison on Wednesday.

SHERBURNE – Playing its homecoming game, Sherburne-Earlville rebounded from a loss last weekend to Mount Markham with a victory over Morrisville-Eaton Monday.
Sarah Brown fed Bridget Irwin for the game-winning goal in the second half. Brown also had the assist on Briana Vibbard’s tally in the opening half.
“Both goals were beautiful assists from Sarah, and Bridget just hammered the ball in,” said S-E coach Kylie Davis. “The first half was horrible for us...but we had some life in the second half and played a lot stronger.”
In the 3-1 loss to Mount Markham on Sept. 16, Brown had the lone goal for the Marauders.

MORRISVILLE – Morrisville-Eaton dominated the first half scoring three times to essentially put the game out of reach Monday night against Sherburne-Earlville.
“We had no offense in the first half. We really struggled and we weren’t communicating,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman.
Ashley Kincaid scored less than five minutes into the game for M-E. Kate Verne and Amber Smalley added goals in the final 10:36 of the half. “It was a much better second half, but M-E is a good team and you can’t play half a game,” Cooman said.
