GREENE – Andrea Day, who has served more as a playmaker the first four games, had her breakout game this season scoring three times for the Trojans in a shutout over Walton Tuesday.

Day had the final goal of a 3-0 first half, and tallied twice in the second half. “We played pretty well, but I thought Walton was good and their tackling was very skilled,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin. “They’re a young team that lost a lost of good seniors, and they’re reloading.”

Greene (5-0), who has blanked all five opponents, scored 2:50 into the game when Abbey Wentlent banged home a shot off a penalty corner pass from Brandee Schoonmaker. Schoonmaker upped the lead to two just five minutes later, this time Jahna Driscoll played the role of set-up person.

The Trojans are at Vestal on Thursday and travel to Afton Saturday.
