S-E Invitational

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville’s boys and girls finished second overall at the annual S-E Invitational as the weather turned favorable for Saturday’s morning’s race.

The Marauders’ boys were buoyed by a 4-5-6 finish among 52 runners. Noah Huff paced the S-E harriers timing 18:23. He was followed by Dan Palmiter (18:33) and Dakota Nelson (18:37).

Sofeia Eddy was second overall among the girls timing 21:55. Her teammates Erin Mahardy (27:28, 13th) and Gabby Huff (27:40, 14th) added season-best times. “The adrenaline of the day pushed our kids towards personal best times,” said S-E coach Anne Geary. “We had to change the course to last year's layout on Friday due to the heavy rain on Thursday. This didnt seem to dampen their enthusiasm. We were all pleased with the great weather and our overall races.”

The Marauders race again on Wednesday at Cooperstown.
