Boy Scouts kick-off annual Popcorn Fundraiser
NORWICH – On Oct. 1, the Boy Scouts of America kicked off their annual popcorn fundraiser. This year’s sale launches with everyone’s past favorites and some new exciting varieties of popcorn. There is something to suit everyone’s tastes, whether it is the sweet and salty Kettle Corn, the Chocolate Covered Carmel corn, or the always delicious Summer Roasted Popcorn. And for those who are not interested in popcorn, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts have magazine subscriptions available at discounted rates as well!
This year, consumers can again donate popcorn to U.S. military personnel. For every $25 donated to Scouting our military personnel will receive $25 worth of popcorn sent to them.
Every purchase of popcorn funds your local scouting program, with 70% of the sale coming back to support scouting. The sale is a major source of income for all of our scouting units and helps to provide the resources to send scouts to summer camp and continue their year long program of events and activities.
Contact your local scouting unit or stop by a selling location located throughout your community during the weekends of October to purchase some of this delicious popcorn.
This year the Boy Scouts of America celebrates their 100th Anniversary, and you can celebrate with them by purchasing and supporting your local scouting program.
For more information or to contact your local scouting unit, contact the Baden-Powell Council Service Center at 648-7888.
