Norwich Lutheran Church Celebrates National Hospice Month

NORWICH – The Norwich Christ Lutheran Church has devised a unique of way of assisting Hospice of Chenango County celebrate and educate the public during November’s National Hospice Month. Lutheran ladies want to host Hospice Hospitality Coffee Hours at other area churches. Cookie trays and decorative china tea and coffee cups will be brought to a participating church and a good will offering will be asked to support Hospice. The money made on different Sundays will be eligible for supplemental funding through the fraternal organization, Thrivent for Lutherans. If you would like to help Hospice of Chenango County raise money by booking the Lutheran ladies to run your church’s coffee hour on an upcoming Sunday, call the church at 334-3431 or email celc@frontiernet.net.

In addition to the coffee hours, Lutheran Church member Robin DeBrita wanted to offer an open forum about Hospice. Her goal is to bring the public together with a knowledgeable Hospice Staff member who will give a brief talk, and then take questions from the audience. Letitia Prosock, RN, CHPN, Hospice’s Patient/Family Coordinator will share the who, what, where, why and how’s of Hospice on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church on North Broad Street.
