SYRACUSE – At the New York State Tennis Championships, Norwich juniors Bryn Loomis and Sophie Stewart acquitted themselves, but dropped two close matches on Saturday at the Eastside Racquet Club.

Loomis and Stewart, making their second appearance in the tournament in as many years, went three sets with seventh-seeded Minte Tamoshunas and Emily Rubenstein of Orchard Park losing 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-2. In the consolation bracket, Loomis and Stewart again went to a tie-breaker in a pro-set format dropping a 9-8 (7-5) match to Fayettville-Manlius’ Allison Vizgaitis and Carley Romano.
