NEW BERLIN – The Town of New Berlin Board accepted a proposed $1,203,642 2011 budget Monday night which would lower taxes slightly from last year.

Though the specific increases vary by a few cents between the five different districts that make up the municipality, the average homeowner will pay about $9.23 of taxes per $1,000 of assessed property value.

The average district tax rate is down about 30 cents compared to the 2010 budget. Over all spending in the 2011 budget is 4.68 percent lower than last year’s $1,259,970.
