Twelve Twenty-Four set to return for 3rd Annual Christmas Concert

NORWICH – The Norwich Firefighters Association will hold its 3rd Annual Christmas Concert and holiday celebration from 7 to 11 p.m., Dec. 18, at the Chenango County Council of the Arts.

The concert will once again feature Pennsylvania-based Twelve Twenty-Four, a 17-piece rock-n-roll orchestra inspired by the sounds of the famed Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Comprised of a four-piece string section, a six member rock band, five lead vocalists, a narrator and an angel, Twelve Twenty-Four will return to perform its unique blend of popular Christmas tunes with a rock edge and a concert feel for fans of all ages, according to the group’s website.

“This is definitely not your typical holiday band. It’s an excellent show, it’s very entertaining and it’s enjoyable for all ages,” said Norwich Firefighters Association member Mike Powell of the ensemble. “It’s an amazing production and it’s full of energy.”

Set-up for the yearly holiday concert requires the combined efforts of all 17 band members, a dedicated eight person road crew and members of the local firefighters association, said Powell, who added preparations for the performance typically begin around noon and continue throughout the afternoon and early evening.
