Boy killed after being hit by car in Greene

GREENE – New York State Police responded to a car/pedestrian fatal accident that occurred on State Route 12 in Greene at 5:05 p.m. Thursday.
Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that Michael J. Mallery, age 25, of Apalachin, was operating his Toyota Scion southbound on Rt. 12 in the vicinity of County Route 2 when Collin D. Clark, age 1 of Greene, ran onto the road into the path of Mallery’s vehicle. Mallery attempted evasive action but was unable to avoid striking the boy. Greene EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the child to Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, where he was declared deceased. The Greene Police Department and Greene EMS assisted with this investigation.
The New York State Police is continuing the investigation.
