Greene Historical Society sponsors Historic House Tour

GREENE – Community members will have the chance to visit four of Greene’s most historic residences this Holiday season, as the Greene Historical Society hosts its first Holiday House Tours. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.

“The tours involve four homes that have historical significance,” explained Sharon Davis of the Greene Historical Society, each of which will be decorated for the Holiday season.

Among the stops on the tour will be the Kennedy Funeral Home, a Victorian built in 1859, and the federal-style 1810 Juliand House, which recently opened as a bed and breakfast.

The exact locations of the other two homes – one built in 1916 in the Greek Revival style and another which dates to 1835 – will not be revealed until the day of the tours.

Davis recently had a chance to preview one of the homes on the tour.

“I have gone by this beauty since I was a child,” she reported, but had never before had a chance to see inside. Her reaction?
