GREENE – Shop in Greene this week for a chance to win a new bike during Hometown Holiday Weekend. Two bikes will be given away during the community wide celebration, which commences on Friday.

According to Grace Benkovitz, executive director of the Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce, those interested in entering the contest simply need to make a purchase at a Greene merchant.

“They’re ready to meet your holiday shopping needs,” Benkovitz said, of the businesses which serve as the backbone of the GGCC. The organization takes the lead role in organizing the weekend-long holiday celebration, now in its 18th year.

Once a purchase has been made, “write your name, telephone number and ‘boy’ or ‘girl’ on the back of the receipt and drop it in any of the Hometown Holiday Weekend drawing boxes,” directed Benkovitz. Boxes are located at The Village Variety, Thomas Real Estate and McKinney Real Estate office in downtown Greene.
