Norwich announces sports hall of fame inductees

NORWICH – The Norwich High School Sports Hall of Fame announces its inaugural class of inductees, all of whom will be profiled in the spring of 2011.

Athletes
• Glenn “Tommy” Manning, Class of 1925, football, basketball.
• Salvatore “Toots” Mirabito, Class of 1938, football, wrestling, boxing, track and field.
• Charles “Doc” Ulrichs, Class of 1945, football, basketball, baseball.
• Edward Ackley, Class of 1953, football, basketball, track and field.
• Jason Morris, Class of 1992, football, basketball, track and field
• Katie Almeter, Class of 2000, track and field, soccer

Coach
Kurt Beyer, 1930-1958, Norwich AD and coach.

Team
Norwich boys’ basketball team, 1992-1993, 1993-1994, back-to-back NYSPHSAA state championship teams.

The selection committees thank all who participated in the selection process this year, and welcomes input for next year’s induction class.
