WALTON – Walton charged out of intermission outscoring UV 23-6 in the third period to extend its 12-point halftime lead to 29 points.
Matt Bartlett and Tyler Magnis scored 11 points apiece to lead a Walton lineup that had six players score seven points or more. “In the third quarter, we turned it over a lot and didn’t show much patience on offense,” said UV coach Matt Osborne. “We took a lot of quick shots, and they got out and ran on us.”
Travis Conklin scored nine points for UV, who play at Sherburne-Earlville Friday.

WALTON – Walton’s up-tempo play forced a slew of Unadilla Valley turnovers in the second quarter, and the Warriors outscored the Storm, 21-3, to build a 23-point halftime lead.
Walton hit three of its four three-pointers during the second quarter and made 4-of-6 from the free throw line. “They play a helter skelter kind of defense that traps everywhere,” said UV coach Brandi Backus. “We tried to run with them, and we just threw the ball away. We went faster and faster, and it just led to more turnovers.”
Devon Kaminsky led Walton with a game-high 24 points.
UV sophomore Amanda Off led her team with 14 points. The Storm play at Sherburne-Earlville Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
