Oxford stages “Princess Tilly of Klutzenstein”

OXFORD – The Oxford Civic Theatre will present a new musical, “Princess Tilly of Klutzenstein,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

It was written by Fred Dankert with music composed by Diane Thorne. This is the team that brought you other musicals including “The Last Doll Musical” in December 2009. Now they describe a brand new adventure of Tilly the doll that came to life. Tilly, her friend Eugenia and their faithful retainer, Arnold have stumbled into the mythical Alpine Princedom of Klutzenstein. Tilly looks exactly like the princess, Sophia, and takes her place at a coronation, thus thwarting the plans of the evil Count Spitzenstein to take control of the tiny country. As part of this escapade a giant Coo coo clock plays an important part – the Coo coo clock soldiers are brought to life and fight the army of the Count.
