BAINBRIDGE – For the second time in three games, B-G needed to make a second-half comeback to keep their perfect record intact.
Shania Vandermark had four points to start the second half, and Randi Conway scored seven straight as part of an 11-2 run to erase a 20-13 halftime deficit.
“This game started out the same way as Unatego,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “We couldn’t make a basket and we got in foul trouble...we came out in the second half, and we were just a different team.”
Conway hit a three ball to close the deficit to two, tied the game with a jumper, and adding a running jumper to make it 24-22. In the fourth, Chelsi Rosa hit a three ball to extend the lead to seven, and Conway went 6-for-7 from the foul line in the fourth to seal the win.
“This was a tough test for us because (Windsor) matches up well with us,” Conway said. “They’re physical inside and they get after you on defense.”
Vandermark led B-G (5-0) with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Conway added 16 points – 15 in the second half – to go with four steals and four assists. Rosa scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds.
