CMH Foundation Campaign at 78 percent of goal

NORWICH – The UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation has raised $72,000 toward its goal to exceed last year’s tally of $92,000. “We’re pleased with the results so far but we still have a ways to go,” commented Christopher P. Hayes, chairman of this year’s campaign.

Hayes and the Foundation’s fundraising committee have put particular emphasis on corporate giving. “We’ve seen an uptick in corporate giving this year and we are extremely thankful to the businesses that have participated,” said Hayes. He further commented that the Foundation has not yet heard from many businesses in the area. “As a small business owner myself, I understand the need for employees to have access to healthcare close to home. It’s beneficial from a business standpoint to support the hospital.”

Hayes pointed out that individual participation has been strong. “Individual gifts are the backbone of the campaign and we appreciate the generosity of everyone who has given so far,” said Hayes. Hospital employees already have raised over $10,000 toward a goal of $17,500.
