OXFORD – The Village of Oxford’s annual election is still several months away, but planning has already begun. According to a report Village Clerk Sherry Behe delivered to municipal leaders this week, three positions will be decided in this year’s election, to be held on June 21.

Those positions are that of village mayor and two seats on the village board of trustees. All are 2-year terms.

The positions are currently held by Mayor Terry Stark and Trustees Matt Voce and Joe Spence.

Stark, a Democrat, has served in his present capacity since 2002. Prior to seeking the office, he spent 10 years on the village board of trustees. Voce, a Republican, was appointed to the board in 2000 and is currently serving his fifth elected term. Spence, an Independent, was elected in 2003 and is serving his fourth term. At present, none of the incumbents have indicated whether they intend to seek re-election. Based on the election timeline, there is no need to rush a decision.
