Walk Healthy Chenango begins second session
NORWICH – The second leg of the “Walk Healthy Chenango” campaign kicked off at the Winter Living Celebration at Rogers Environmental Education Center on Dec. 19. Participants will received a walking log and a stop watch. Over 60 persons have signed up to date.
Participants are encouraged to walk or participate in other physical activity for 2.5 hours per week. Activity should be recorded for January through March and the log should be turned in by April 15 so participants can be entered in a drawing for some great prizes. The walking log also includes information about the health benefits of regular physical activity and some opportunities for physical activity during the winter months both indoors and out.
The Walk Healthy Campaign was started in August, 2010 with 160 persons participating in the first leg of the campaign. Persons that completed and submitted their logs were eligible for special prizes in December. Prizes awarded this week included:$50 Gift Certificate donated by McLaughlin’s, $25 Gift Certificate donated by Action Cyclery, one month membership donated by AIM Fitness, cordless phones donated by Frontier Communications, and day passes donated by Norwich Family YMCA
