Mill Artisans offers local artisans a chance to display their wares

SHERBURNE – With its wide variety of locally made decorative gift items – as well as needle-felting and knitting supplies – the recently opened and completely renovated Mill Artisans, 14 West State St., offers a unique and warm atmosphere for its customers to enjoy.

From fleece winter-wear to yarn, lotions, soaps, handmade jewelry, locally produced honey and all manner of knitted items, such as quilts and fabric bowls, Mill Artisans has it all, according to owner Jane Hough.

About a dozen Chenango and Madison County artisans currently utilize the consignment shop to display their wares, in addition to Hough herself, who specializes in needle, sheet and fabric felting, knitting and gourd decorating.

A Sherburne resident since 1982, Hough said while business was relatively slow to start, it’s been steadily picking up as word of the shop continues to spread.
