United Way takes golf indoors for 2nd annual event Saturday

NORWICH – It’s time to pull out that trusty putter once again as the Chenango United Way prepares for its 2nd annual Indoor Miniature Golf Event, to be held from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday at the Norwich American Legion, 29 Sheldon Street.

Sponsored by a number of local businesses and organizations, the all-day event will feature 18 holes of fun-filled, indoor miniature golf, according to Chenango United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco. Each hole – constructed by one of the 18 individual hole sponsors – presents its own unique challenges and it’s a perfect opportunity to have some fun while supporting a great cause, she added.

The event will feature a cash bar, food will be available throughout the day beginning at noon and several local businesses have donated a variety of items for a basket raffle and silent auction. In addition, participants are urged to come in costume if they wish to try for the “coveted 2nd annual mini-golf Best Costume plaque,” laughed Monaco.

A plaque will also be awarded to the business or organization which sponsored and constructed the best hole, as voted by participants throughout the day.
