Art Forum presents ‘Not So Sharp’ Saturday
NEW BERLIN – The New Berlin Art Forum will present “Not So Sharp,” a student directed a cappella group from Hartwick College, Oneonta, in concert at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Since their inception in the fall of 2005 they have accumulated an eclectic and diverse repertoire that range from Billy Joel to Queen to the latest radio hits. “Not So Sharp” has performed and given workshops in high schools throughout New York and New England. They have performed in Prague and the Czech Republic while traveling with Hartwick College and as the opening act for Martin Short and “Up in the Air,” a small ensemble group from Tiffin University.
The “Not So Sharp” performers this season are: Madeleine Jayson (Director, mezzo); Sean Carpenter (Music Director, tenor); Katie Watson (alto); Nicole Daniels (alto); Lauren Gould (alto); Rachel Hill (Soprano); Katie Pennings (Soprano); Carolyn Ress (Soprano); Adam Zazzara (baritone); Brian Terbush (Bass); Tim Bell (Tenor); Kyle Finch (Tenor) and Evan Wallace (Bass and Beat Boxer).
For this performance tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the New Berlin Library or Service Pharmacy in New Berlin and at the door the evening of the performance. Refreshments will be available during intermission in the Parish Hall.
Raffle tickets for this performing arts season will be available at this performance. First Prize is an Eastern Travel Gift Certificate ($200 value). Second Prize is a Fenimore Art Museum Family Membership ($80 Value including admission to The Farmers’ Museum) and Third Prize is a New Berlin Art Forum 2011- 2012 Family Membership ($60 Value). Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The lucky winners will be drawn May 7 at the conclusion of the original play, “Off the Hook,” May 7 at 7 p.m. at the Unadilla Valley Central School Auditorium.
