Selvin's work featured on NBT's Wall of Art

NORWICH – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art currently features a collection of watercolor seascapes painted by Josef Selvin at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. His work will be on display until late May.

His subtle use of color allows Selvin to capture the mood one might experience walking along a riverfront or coastline. A resident of Mount Upton, Selvin said, “Wherever I go, whether it’s a sporting event, along a waterfront or a local fair, I look for an eye-catching view.” Selvin, who teaches the art of watercolor painting at the Norwich campus of BOCES, said he finds introducing people to watercolors very satisfying. Through his BOCES class, the World War II veteran teaches his students all aspects of painting such as the differences in paper, how watercolor works, what brushes to use and how to mix colors.
