Community events mark New Berlin’s Easter this Saturday
NEW BERLIN – On Saturday, two fundraisers and a 1,000 Easter Egg hunt will take place in downtown New Berlin.
The Village of New Berlin and local businesses will sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Hyde Park. The village welcomes all ages to attend, but the hunt mainly targets ages 10 and under, explained New Berlin Mayor Terry Potter.
Parents are asked to remain with their children for the hunt and the eggs will be filled with candy along with other small prizes. A few will include tickets for larger prizes, such as chocolate rabbits.
Potter said the village held its most successful Easter Egg hunt last year with more than 100 families participating. He said the village again ordered 1,000 eggs for the hunt, which are all usually found within 20 to 30 minutes.
Leading up to the egg hunt, the New Berlin Youth Committee will be holding a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the New Berlin Fire House from 8 to 11 a.m. The not-for-profit group is asking for good will donations.
Those attending the event can also get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny for $3. All proceeds will be donated to Relay for Life.
