FIRST Robotics team holds awards ceremony

NORWICH – The Chenango County F.I.R.S.T (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Team, held their annual year-end celebration and awards banquet on May 19 at the Norwich High School.
Students participating in the 2010-2011 season included: Andrew Biviano, Ben Burlew Jeff Burlew, Mike Combes, Logan Carsten, Angelina Festarini, Adam Filer, Ben Kirkland, Justin Lindenthaler, Jacob Misch, Matt Monroe, John Mooney, Eric Olsen, Emily Perry, Dillon Robinson, Nate Rose, Andrew Ruhland, Alexis Smith, Emily Stewart, Derrick Talbot, Tim Toepfer, David Waters, Hunter Westcott, Kati Williams, and Taylor Wolf.
Certificates were presented to each of the 25 students for participation as well as special awards given for; team leadership, gracious professionalism, artistic design, “inventor” comprehension, most improved rookie, and more. Departing senior members of the team also awarded fun “specialty” items to team members based on individual areas of expertise.
The team would like to thank corporate sponsor, Norwich Pharmaceuticals and supporting sponsors; NBT Bank, Norwich Glass, Giltner’s Paint and Flooring, The Balloon Detail, The Raymond Corporation, MJM Photography, Mead Westvaco, and the Mid-York Press for their support, as well as all the people that supported individual students.
