New York State Department of Health recognizes CMH
NORWICH – Members of Chenango County Health Department recently presented the Maternity Department of UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital with a Certificate of Excellence. The certificate recognizes the department for its 100% compliance with requirements under public health law mandating testing, reporting and recording of hepatitis B virus (HBV) status for all pregnant women and a minimum 90% birthdose rate of HBV vaccine given to all newborns.
“This program helps to prevent perinatal transmission of hepatitis B virus and is a valuable partnership among CMH Chenango Memorial Hospital, New York State Department of Health and Chenango County Health Department,” stated Patty Roma, RN, Manager of the Maternity .Department.
Public Health representatives Barb McCarty, RN, Immunization Coordinator, and SueDavidson, RN, Perinatal Hep B Coordinator, presented the certificate to -Patty Roma, RN, and Maternity nurses Marlette Yarnes-Halbert, RN, and Lois Everett, RN.
