Plymouth man arrested for criminal possession of stolen property

PLYMOUTH – Samuel L. Clemens was arrested last week after items from at least three area burglaries were found at his residence in the Town of Plymouth.

According to Sgt. C. Ted Ellingsen of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, the stolen property was discovered during the course of an investigation into a burglary which occurred in June at a seasonal property on Bisby Road in the Town of Smyrna in June in which a Suzuki motorcycle, Honda 3-wheeler and another ATV were reported stolen.

According to Ellingsen, evidence found at the crime scene lead to Clemens, a 40-year old Plymouth man with previous felony convictions.

When questioned, Clemens consented to a search of his property. The search, conducted by law enforcement officers on Tuesday, revealed not only the motorcycle and ATVs missing from the burglary being investigated, but also items reported stolen in two other crimes as well.
