Norwich finishes with perfect division record

NORWICH – Norwich finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 Division A mark in the Otsenango Pony League blanking Sherburne Monday.
Norwich banged out 13 hits to support the shutout effort of pitcher Cody Barnes. Barnes allowed four hits striking out 11 and walking three.
Derek Manwarren went 2-for-2 including a three-run triple in the bottom of the fourth. Josh Haines went 3-for-4, while John Yacano reached base safely three times scoring three runs. Chris Trevisani added a 2-for-2 day with two runs scored. Norwich, the defending league champion, heads to the playoffs with a 13-2 overall record. Norwich hosts Cooperstown Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of postseason play.
