Meade retires after 24 years with Sheriff’s Office

NORWICH – After 24 years of dedicated service, Deputy Dwight F. Meade has retired from the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. Meade was honored Saturday during a picnic hosted by the Chenango County Law Enforcement Association.

“Deputy Dwight Meade is an extremely dedicated member of the Sheriff’s Office and he will be greatly missed,” said Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting, Jr.

According to Cutting, Meade began his law enforcement career on January 1, 1987. In November of that year, he completed the Correction Academy. The following August, he completed the Basic Police Academy. In May of 1999, he furthered his training at the New York State Sheriff’s Association’s Civil School.
