ONEONTA – Norwich advanced to the Otsenango Pony League championship game for the second straight season blanking Unadilla Valley Saturday afternoon at Neawah Park.
Cameron Prime pitched a complete-game victory striking out five and allowing three UV hits. Prime also scored the opening run of the game as part of Norwich’s three-run first. After drawing a walk and stealing second, Prime scored on Josh Haines’ single.
John Yacano went 2-for-4 for Norwich with two runs scordd, Robert Jeffrey drove in two runs, and Prime scored twice.
Norwich advanced to the semifinals routing Cooperstown, 16-1, on Friday.
UV finished with a 9-1 record against league competition.

NEW BERLIN – Two runs in the bottom of the fifth provided the margin of victory for Unadilla Valley in Friday’s Otsenango Pony League playoff win over Sherburne.
Brendan Booker singled to score Mason Alford with the team’s third run, and Nate Shackleton added an insurance run on the play coming home on a throwing error.
UV took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the third. Kyle King singled and Alford drew a walk. Shackleton reached on an error, and Brooker’s single scored King and Alford.
Shackleton threw a complete game allowing two hits. He struck out 12 and walked two. King finished with two of UV’s five hits.
