To best address these needs, NYSEG will build a new 46-kilovolt (kv) transmission line from NYSEG’s County Line Substation in the Town of Sherburne through the Towns of Sherburne and Columbus to a new substation to be built near Agro Farma. The first 7-plus miles of the new transmission line is expected to be built parallel to an existing NYSEG transmission line using some existing rights of way. The remaining 2-plus miles of the new line will require all new rights of way. Property owners will be contacted to discuss any new easements that are needed.

NYSEG has started preliminary engineering and design work for the project with the expectation of beginning construction next spring. Plans call for the new facilities to be in service in the fall of 2012.
