COVENTRY – A 35-year old Coventry man was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis after law enforcement officers seized 14 pot plants from his property last week.

According to the New York State Police, Tony L. Williamson was growing the illegal plants in a wooded area on his property on Wrench Lane in the Town of Coventry. The cannabis was discovered Wednesday by law enforcement officers who were investigating a complaint made by someone who claimed to have seen the plants growing.
