BEREA, OH – Norwich resident Barb LoPiccolo brought home five medals at the USATF National Masters Track and Field Championships in Berea, Ohio July 28-31.
Competing in the 60-64 women’s age group for the Syracuse Chargers’ team, LoPiccolo earned silver medals in the javelin, hammer throw, and weight throw. LoPiccolo added bronze medals in the discus and shot put.
LoPiccolo also competed in the USATF National Masters Throws Pentathlon in New London, Connecticut. LoPiccolo’s combined throws allowed her to eke out a national championship in her age group. All five events – three throws per event – were completed in 3 1/2 hours, LoPiccolo said.
