Three arrested in Oxford for sex crimes

OXFORD – Three Oxford males, ranging in age from 15 to 26, face felony sex offense charges after being arrested by the New York State Police for separate, unrelated crimes.
Trevor S. Collins, 18, was taken into custody Tuesday. He is charged with third degree rape and third degree criminal sexual act, both class E felonies, as well as endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
According to Investigator Jason Bessett of the New York State Police, the charges stem from an incident which allegedly took place during the spring of this year in the Village of Oxford, involving Collins and a female under the age of 17.
Collins was arraigned in Preston Town Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
In a separate incident, State Police arrested a 15-year-old male, also from the Village of Oxford. He has been charged with three counts of committing a first degree criminal sexual act by forcible compulsion, a class B felony, and two counts of first degree sex abuse, a class D felony.
Also arrested was James C. Hill, 26, from the Town of Oxford. Hill is charged with third degree rape, a class E felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly having unlawful sexual contact with a victim under the age of 17.
Hill was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Oxford Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
