Norwich honors employee, teacher of the year

NORWICH – The Norwich City School District recently announced its Employee of the Year, Perry Browne Elementary secretary Susan Grenier, and Teacher of the Year, NHS social studies teacher Richard Turnbull. According to NCSD Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan, Grenier is “energetic and willing to help anyone with any task” and “a great team player.” Since she came to Perry Browne, Grenier has been a part of the school’s music program, dedicating countless hours of her time, he added. Turnbull, who’s constantly involved with student activities such as Spirit Week and the prom (he was master of ceremonies for both events last year), also advises the high school’s Student Government Organization and leadership program, said O’Sullivan. In addition, he volunteers for many other school activities, as well as volunteering his time as an assistant varsity basketball and junior varsity baseball coach.
