CANASTOTA – Sherburne-Earlville’s high-scoring offense caught fire in the second half in a blowout victory at Canastota Tuesday afternoon.
Briana Vibbard’s goal in the first half was the lone tally to find the net for S-E, that despite constant pressure in the Canastota defensive end. “We just had a hard time putting our shots on goal in the first half,” said S-E coach Kylie Davis. “We felt we needed to win this game solidly, and we came out in the second half and dominated.”
Vibbard’s second goal came four minutes into the second half, and it preceded three more goals over the next 15 minutes. Jordan Van Althuis scored on a direct kick, and Emma Karaman added two more goals for S-E (2-2-1), who host Clinton on Monday.

NEW BERLIN – Bainbridge-Guilford scored with 1:49 left in the second overtime to force a tie with Unadilla Valley Tuesday afternoon.
Megan Smith had two goals for UV, the second with 4:08 remaining in the first overtime. Amber DeGroat tied the game for B-G late in the second extra period.
The Bobcats had just two shots on goal, the first by Gia Cuomo gave the visitors a 1-0 halftime lead. “Things were kind of amiss in the first half,” said UV coach Janelle Ross. “We started to be more aggressive going to the ball in the second half, and that made the difference.”
Regarding the two goals by B-G on the Bobcats’ only two shots: “They were just well-executed plays and shots,” Ross said. “I don’t know a goalie who could have saved them.”
UV (1-1-1) hosts Oxford today in a makeup game from last week.

ONEONTA – At Hall of Fame Fields in Oneonta, G-MU and Laurens each scored a goal in overtime as the two clubs played to a tie in Tri-Valley League play.
It was the second straight game in OT for the Raiders, who needed a long-range goal from Blake Stensland to tie the game. Stensland converted a direct kick from about 10 feet inside midfield three minutes into the second overtime. “(Blake’s) goal wasn’t expected, but we know she has a big foot,” said G-MU coach Tina Cole. “We had a number of opportunities, we just hit it right at the goalie.”
G-MU hosts Morris on Thursday.

The Vikings took a 1-0 lead at the half on freshman Jordan Lidell’s goal. Lidell and Courtney Pittsley tacked on insurance goals in the second half. “We had several good opportunities in the first half, but we were a little nervous at the start,” said OV coach Kevin Springer. “Jennifer Rhodes and Esther Lyon did a super job on defense, and Niki Olin’s speed up front complemented Jordan.”
OV held a one-goal lead until the final 14 minutes when it scored in with 13:41 and 8:20 to play. The Vikings are at McGraw Thursday.

Jaime Berger finished with six aces for Norwich, Katie Callahan dished out nine assists, and Berger along with Laura Zagada shared the team lead with three kills apiece.

The Trojans took command of the match with better serving over the final three games. Rebecca Hanrahan had nine straight service points in the second game, and finished with 10 aces to go with eight kills. Jill McDaniels led the Trojans with 10 assists.
“We had much more consistent serving than Walton, and that gave us more opportunites to play the ball,” said Greene coach Shelbe Furman.
