NORWICH – After trading goals with Norwich early in the second half, Chenango Valley’s Ashley Lawrence knocked in the game-winner with 28:07 left in the game to give the Warriors a win over the Tornado Friday.

Norwich put a season-high 15 shots on goal, and held a significant edge in total shots. The lone NHS goal game from Alyssa MacIntosh, who scored off a Kayla Hughes pass. “We had so much good passing up front, and it really looked nice,” said Norwich coach Dianne Fiorina. “We played really well, we just couldn’t put another goal in.”

Saturday, G-MU scored three unanswered goals in the second half to break away from a tie game in defeating the Tornado. Kali Murphy had two goals for G-MU in the win.

MacIntosh was credited with an unassisted first-half goal for Norwich, who host Chenango Forks today at 4:30 p.m.
