DVD Patrol

Hello, all you happy Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is here and this week we’re going to take a break from DVDs to take a quick look at some new shows coming up on television. The Toddster has picked some new ones and they may do well or they won’t. Movies and television are all a roll of the dice and hopefully the picks I have will do well. See if you think these are some shows you might be interested in.

New on Television

Person of Interest - Everyone knows the tragedy of September 11 will be remembered, but someone developed has a database on persons of interest since this happened. Now someone is using this computer system to go after those that have done nothing wrong. John Reese (Jim Caviezel) used to be a CIA Agent ,but has left and is now on his own without a purpose in life. A mysterious scientist named Finch (Michael Emerson) has found out that the system he developed for the Government is being misused and now needs Reese’s help to help these people who may or may not be victims. Can the two new partners get to the bottom of the case? Catch “Person of Interest” on CBS airing Thursdays at 9.

2 Broke Girls - From the creators of “Sex and the City” and “Whitney,” here comes a new comedy about a couple of girls with the atitude and drive to make it in the big city so to speak. Max (Kat Dennings) has never been someone to back down especially when someone is trying to take advantage of her. Her views may change a little when she meets Caroline (Beth Behrs). Caroline used to be one of the richest women in New York, but now she has lost it all when her family is discovered to have stolen a lot of money in an investment scam. Caroline is not what you would call streetwise but Max has decided to help her and invites her to stay at her apartment where Max’s boyfriend starts hitting on her. Can Max figure out the truth or has her and Caroline’s friendship stopped before it begins? This new one can be seen on Mondays at 8:30 on CBS.

Unforgettable - There are cop shows and there are cop shows. Here comes a new one that has perfect recall. Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery) was a cop and was always good at her job. She also has a unique gift that helped in her work. She has perfect recall and doesn’t forget a thing. Something happened that made decide to leave. Now she is being called back by an old partner (Dylan Walsh). It’s never easy for someone to overcome their personal fears to take a stand. Can Carrie do this to solve the case she’s needed for? Tuesdays is just the time to catch this new drama airing on Tuesdays at 10 on CBS.

Charlie’s Angels - Returning to old favorites with a new lease on life isn’t always a bad thing. Charles Townsend Investigations has always had a knack for solving cases and has used a trio of some amazing women that get the job done. After a case goes bad, Charlie asks the victim’s friend, Eve (Minka Kelly) to help. Eve joins Abby (Rachel Taylor) and Kate (Annie Illonzeh) on the case. Eve was close to her friend and won’t stop until she finds her friend’s killer. Will this become an asset or stop them from finding out who murdered their teammate? See the angels in action at 8 Thursdays on ABC.

The Secret Circle - Finding things about the people you love may not be things you want to find out. Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) had everything going for her but her life changes for the worse when her Mother is killed under strange circumstances. Cassie moves in with her grandmother and learns things about her Mom and her hometown that she couldn’t be more unprepared for. Cassie learns that her Mother was a witch and her friends were part of a circle where things went bad and people were hurt. Years later, another circle of friends has been formed and they practice witchcraft. Now they need Cassie to complete the circle and to be able to control the power they possess. Will Cassie be able to get a handle on her newfound power and help her new friends or are there more sinister motives in store? See the group cast their spell on you Thursdays at 9 on the CW Network.

Other great shows returning and on the Toddster’s list include “Nikita,””The Vampire Dairies,” and “NCIS.” A lot of these shows have some great potential and will run for many years to come. The Toddster will be here again.
