MEMC presents “Hooked on Tonics”

NORWICH – The Monday Evening Musical Club is pleased to present “Hooked on Tonics,” SUNY College at Oneonta’s Premiere co-ed A Cappella group, on Monday. This free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, 11 West Main St. in Norwich.
Dr. Paul Carter, professor of Music Theory and Counterpoint at SUNY Oneonta, started the group in 2004 with a few eager students, and it has grown to become an 18 member musical force that drums up more than 70 auditioners each semester. “Hooked on Tonics” performs on the SUNY Oneonta campus as well as in the surrounding community, including the National Baseball Hall of Fame, various charity events, and the SUNYpella Rocks! a cappella competition.
This will be their first performance in Norwich. Admission to the concert is free; Monday Evening Musical Club, a not-for-profit organization, accepts free will donations to its Scholarship Fund at its monthly programs. Scholarship auditions are open to all Chenango County high school seniors who plan to pursue a music degree in college.
