‘Uncommon Gourds’ of Lynn Thomas currently at Made in Chenango; open house Friday
NORWICH – Natural beauty abounds during the fall season in Chenango County, and Made In Chenango Gift Shop and Gallery is pleased to showcase The Uncommon Gourd art of Lynn Thomas / Winterwood Studios for the month of October.
The natural beauty of each gourd is the foundation from which Lynn’s talented hand creates a work of art that will add an elegant touch to any space Thomas has exhibited at Colorscape Chenango and many other venues, and her unique hand-carved and exquisitely painted gourds are currently available in downtown Norwich at the new location of Made In Chenango, now at 25-27 North Broad St. (next door to Garf’s).
Made In Chenango is also celebrating its 15th Anniversary this October, and the members are especially excited to be hosting a Grand Re-Opening at their spacious, beautiful new location near the West Park. The artists wish to thank the community for ongoing and enthusiastic support during their time of crisis in the spring that led to this relocation, and wish to invite everyone to join them for an Open House on Friday, Oct. 21 to celebrate. The store will be open late until 8 p.m. that day, and will treat shoppers to special events including a basket-weaving demonstration by member Doris Wilbur beginning around 5 p.m., and a reception to meet continuing and newly added artists from 6-8 p.m. The evening will also feature a live musical performance by Tom Rasely from 6-7:30 p.m. – Tom’s CDs are always available to purchase at Made In Chenango, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet the man behind the music. There will also be a drawing at the end of the evening for five lucky winners who will each receive a $15 gift certificate to the store, entries are being accepted now. Normal business hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., or browse online at www.madeinchenango.com.
