NORWICH – Thanks to a quick response by Norwich firefighters, this small fire at the Benedict Corporation, State Highway 23, was under control within minutes of their arrival at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning. The small structure, located at the southeast end of the car dealership, houses the corporation’s used car sales. Fire Chief Tracy Chawgo said the fire was a limited one and called the damage minimal. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, he added.
