Two councilman seats to be decided in German
GERMAN – A pair of town council seats are up for grabs on Nov. 8, when German voters will decide between a trio of candidates vying for the positions, when incumbents Stella Penny Lum and Steven Maroney face-off against newcomer Carol Turshman.
Lum, 65, took over for council member Elaine Warren just a few short months ago, she said. Now retired, the Democratic nominee said she had previously run for town supervisor over a decade ago.
Maroney, who is seeking a third term on the council, is a retired career firefighter who does some excavation work on the side. Now 63, Maroney said he’d decided eight years ago he wanted to be more involved, something he’d like to continue to do for another four years.
