Superintendent of highways position up for grabs in Lincklaen

LINCKLAEN – Town of Lincklaen voters will have to choose from three candidates for superintendent of highways on Tuesday.
Republican Travis M. Hull and independent Jeffrey A. Hathaway will face incumbent Councilman Rodney Losaw, who is running for a second term as a “Square Deal” independent.
Losaw, 43, has held the position for four years now, and has worked for the Town of Lincklaen Highway Department for approximately 15 years.
Hull, 42, is a long-time resident of Lincklaen and former deputy superintendent. This is his first campaign for government office. A self-described “jack of all trades,” he has been employed as both a truck driver and mechanic in the past.
Hathaway previously worked for Lincklaen’s highway department for 10 years and is now employed by Chenango Asphalt. He ran an unsuccessful campain for highway superindent once before, back in the 1990s. He said he entered the race again because of the number of “things that aren’t getting done” in regards to the town’s maintenance. For the past 24 years, the candidate has held a position as either chief or assistant chief with the South Otselic Fire Department.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in Lincklaen Town Hall, 651 Union Valley-Lincklaen Road.
