CMH Foundation announces campaign goal
NORWICH – Linda Palmatier, Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Chair of Annual Support, has announced a fund raising goal of $103,000 for this year’s campaign.
“We raised just over $102,000 last year,” she reported. “We understand the financial stress many people are under, so we set a target just modestly higher than last year’s total.”
All money raised is invested and just the income it produces is given to UHS Chenango Memorial. This process builds the Foundation’s endowment while preserving the donor’s original gift to generate income in the future. “Everything we raise is used to support our hospital,” said Palmatier. Since inception, the CMH Foundation has given the hospital over $550,000. Recent gifts have supported renovations of the hospital’s third floor and maternity unit, equipment for the heart care center and a vehicle to transport long-term care residents to community activities. This past April, the Foundation provided $50,000 to purchase equipment for use in minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures.
