S-E grad wins Ithaca mayoral race
ITHACA – A 2005 Sherburne-Earlville High School graduate was elected mayor of the City of Ithaca on Tuesday.
When he takes over in January, Svante Myrick, who is 24, will be the youngest mayor in New York state and the first African American mayor of Ithaca.
“I’m so grateful for all the people who supported me and all the people who laid the path before me to get me to this point,” he said yesterday.
