Sherburne Lions plan Thanksgiving dinner

SHERBURNE – With the holiday season right around the corner, the Sherburne Lions Club has announced its 26th annual free community Thanksgiving Day dinner.
The dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 at the United Methodist Church in Sherburne.
Lions Club member Ken Van Wagner said the greater Sherburne community is invited to attend and that last year 101 dinners were served.
“We will have Lions Club members and a couple of community volunteers helping us,” said Van Wagner. “All help is welcome, but we typically have 95 percent club attendance.”
Turkey, dressing, potatoes as well as numerous other Thanksgiving favorites will be served, all provided by members of the club and their families. Desserts will also be available with a sugar-free option for anyone with special dietary concerns.
Take-outs and delivery are also available for those with transportation issues and can be reserved prior to Thanksgiving morning by contacting the Lions Club at 674-9558.
